Hi All!

We are Elysium Suds & Lathers! We provide small batch handmade soaps that are made with quality ingredients. We strive to be nature inspired and nature friendly across our business. We strive to be zero plastic as best as we can with exceptions of when we feel plastic is the best option (such as lip balm tubes). Everything is handmade completely from scratch in small batches. Our primary ingredients as listed on our labels (though they do change depending on the kind of soap being made but this is our general base for our non vegan friendly bars) are: Ingredients/Ingrédients: Aqua, Adeps bovis, Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, Brassica napus (canola) oil, Elaeis guineensis (palm kernel) oil, Ricinus communis (castor) oil, Sodium Hydroxide.

So, what will you find in our soaps?

- Quality products made with RSPO and ECOCERT/Cosmos Approved ingredients.

- Essential oils or zero added scents

- Natural colourants

What won't you find?

- Melt and pour soap bases

Fragrance oils

- Micas, Oxides, Lakes, Glitter

- Icky additives like SLES, SLS, Parabens etc

With all that being said, we would also like to add that we are members of the HBBG (Handcrafted Bath & Body Guild of Canada), we are insured, and we have done our absolute best to abide by the laws and regulations set by Health Canada including filing CNF forms and appropriate labelling laws.

So, who are we really?

Morgan, Head Soap Scientist & Owner

Hi! My name is Morgan & I am a soapaholic!  I got started in soaping by dragging my mom (left) & my mother-in-law (right) to a soap making class a while back because I was tired of my sensitive skin being such a bother (in truth I was actually looking for a creative outlet that was similar to baking but didn't have the eating-everything-I-just-made part...). I fell head over heels in love with the process & decided I had possibly found my "thing". My Husband, Jared (also our lead product tester... don't ask about the time I turned his feet blue...) & I are avid backpackers & we feel most at home when we are in the backcountry surrounded by mountains and trees. We even rocked hiking boots on our wedding day as we helicoptered up to Berg Lake for the morning! Our company is named for the place seen in our logo, which is located in Jasper National Park. Elysium is also considered in Greek mythology to be a paradise at the end of the earth. Fitting we thought. We would follow each other to the ends of the earth and this beautiful world was meant for our eyes to see. Why not name the soap company after the place we consider paradise? & we attempt to make soaps that smell of these wonderful places. You're standing in your house with the kids crying and the dust bunnies roaming but that scent can take you to the camp in the mountains by the glacier we love so much. Scent is a wonderful and powerful sense we have been blessed with. & the scent isn't even the best part! The amazing things it has done for my skin is such a great payoff!

Tory & Torie, Assistants & Grunts (as they put it)

These two ladies with me here are the workhorses of the operation. They assist with production and packaging (ahem and maybe a fair amount of heckling as well...) and definitely keep me on my toes! Every day in the soap studio is an adventure with these two around.  They are the companies biggest cheerleaders and they have most certainly contributed to our many successes thus far! They are smart, resourceful, and essential to our future success!
